Consultation process

The first version of the Verification Framework for Native Natural Ingredients was adopted in September 2007, after a one-year consultation process. Click here to download a report of the consultation process.

The UEBT Verification Framework is currently undergoing a revision. The comments received during the first round of consultations are being incorporated in a new draft that will undergo a second round of consultation, scheduled to start in June 2010. Please click here to take part in this second phase of the revision process.

Work-programme

In April 2009, the Board of the Union for Ethical BioTrade will decide whether or not to initiate a formal revision process of the Union's Verification Framework for native natural ingredients. Download the work-plan here.

ISEAL Code of Good Practice

The Union for Ethical BioTrade is a Full Member of the ISEAL Alliance, the global association for social and environmental standards systems. Our standard-setting processes comply with ISEAL's Code of Good Practice for Setting Social and Environmental Standards.  Currently, the Verification Framework for Native Natural Ingredients is undergoing a formal revision following this code and the UEBT standardization procedures.
