Revision Process for Verification Framework

The Union for Ethical BioTrade’s Standard is designed in accordance with the requirements for developing Standards as stipulated by the World Trade Organisation (WTO) and the International Social and Environmental Accreditation and Labelling Alliance (ISEAL). These requirements include the need to carry out consultations open to all stakeholders and decision-making mechanisms that respect the balance between different interest groups. They also require the need to periodically review the standards (at least every five years).

In line with these requirements, UEBT holds two rounds of consultations. The first round of the consultation process is now closed. The second round of the consultation process will be announced on this website as soon as it is launched.
