Revision Process for Verification Framework

The Union for Ethical BioTrade has launched a formal revision process for its standard: the Verification Framework for Native Natural Ingredients. The Union announced the revision phase in early July and is actively encouraging all stakeholders to participate in this consultation process in an effort to further the institution’s objectives to promote the ‘Sourcing with Respect’ of biodiversity ingredients.

How to participate?

  1. Register on the Ethical Standard Space at http://www.piec.org/standards/

    If you were previously an ECLspace member there is no need to register on the Ethical Standard Space, your WebMachine login detail will be sufficient to download the document using the instructions below.

    If you have not previously registered on the Webmachine or the Ethical Standard Space please follow the steps below:
    1. Go to the website: http://www.piec.org/standards/
    2. Click on “Register” on the left-hand side menu
    3. Complete required fields
    4. Submit details to finalize registration process
  2. Once registered and logged-in, click on “Standard development”
  3. Click on “Review of UEBT Verification Framework”
  4. Download the form to make comments or have the documents sent via email
  5. Once the form is downloaded, comments can be added to the gray fields
  6. Upon completion, click on “upload document” in order to return your comments for review

    Please note: When uploading your comments, please use the original file name to ensure your documents are successfully received.

Timeline

The first phase of the revision process was launched on 6 July 2009 and will run until 6 September 2009. A second phase will take place thereafter, the specific details of which will be announced nearer to the date.
