Governance

The Union for Ethical BioTrade is a membership-based organisation that was created in May 2007 in Geneva, Switzerland. Currently, most members to the Union are businesses in the personal care and cosmetics industry. Some are active in the natural pharmaceutical and food sectors as well. There are three types of membership: trading members, affiliate members and individual members. The trading and affiliate members elect the Board of Directors of the Union and approve the management of the organisation. The Union's day-to-day management is handled by the Secretariat in Geneva.

To support the functioning of the Union, the Board has appointed various committees, including an appeals committee, a membership committee, and a standards committee. The appeals procedure is available to download here.

Board

The Board meets twice a year and is elected by the General Assembly. The Board is currently composed of:
